Kos by bike

Updated 24 October 2026

The municipality lists ten cycling routes, from flat rides for families to mountain-bike tracks. These are the easy places to start.

Along the coast

From Kos Town a bike lane follows the coast road north-west to Lambi, about 4 km. To the south-east, Psalidi has its own lane apart from the road, about 4 to 5 km from town; Agios Fokas is some 4 km further, with Therma beyond it.

In and around town

The plane tree, the castle and the Agora stand next to each other in the centre. The Asklepieion is about 3.4 km south-west of town.

To Tigaki and its salt lake

Tigaki is about 7 km on from Lambi, by the Faros road and a back road. The salt lake lies between Tigaki and Marmari.

Up into the hills

Zia and Old Pyli sit on the slopes of Dikaios, and an e-bike makes the climb easy. Ours cover 50 to 60 km on a charge, depending on the assist mode and the battery.

How hard

The municipality grades its routes in three levels: almost flat and fine for children; mostly forest roads with slopes up to 5%; and gravel tracks with slopes of 5 to 12%, for a mountain bike and some experience.

Getting there

Collect from the shop in Lambi, or the rental shop picks you up from your accommodation (hotel or apartment) and takes you back at the end. Pick-ups are confirmed by message after you book.
