Agios Stefanos beach

Kefalos · Beaches

Why go

Agios Stefanos, in the Kefalos area, is one of the most photographed beaches on Kos. It lies beside the ruins of two early Christian churches from the 5th and 6th centuries and looks out to Kastri, a small islet with a chapel of Saint Nicholas.

The seabed is grassy, with large rocks, and you can swim out towards Kastri.

Our tips

  • Some people swim out to the islet of Kastri. Only when the sea is calm and you are a confident swimmer.
