Mastichari

Mastichari is on the north coast, 3 km north of Antimachia and 22 km from Kos Town. Locals call it Antimachia's harbour.
Sand and wind
Sandy beaches with beach bars and sunbeds. Mastichari is among the windiest places on Kos, so windsurfers and kitesurfers come here.

From the harbour
Boats from the harbour reach Kalymnos and Pserimos in under an hour, so either works as a day trip.
In the village
Fish tavernas, and close to the sea the ruins of an early Christian basilica with a mosaic floor. Just outside the village there is a waterpark.
Towards Antimachia
Antimachia is 3 km inland. Beyond it, the Knights' castle stands on a plateau above the south coast, with free entry, and peacocks roam the pine forest of Plaka.
